Lauren Marinelli White holds a M.F.A. in Acting and Directing Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently an adjunct instructor of Acting, Theatre and Speech at University of Maryland University College. She has just returned from Germany where she served as Artistic Director of the internationally-based, award-winning Alliance Players in Brunssum, Netherlands. Recent directing credits include The Diary of Anne Frank (Alliance Players) and The Taming of the Shrew (UMUC). Previous directing credits include Marvin's Room (2011 IMCOM European Tournament 'Best Ensemble' Finalist), Rabbit Hole (2010 IMCOM European Tournament 'Best Drama' Finalist) and Wings (2008 VTA One-Act Festival Finalist). She recently had the immense pleasure of studying Voice and Text at the Royal Shakespeare Company with Alison Bomber. Lauren continues to develop her own work (co-creator, Jase Smith, Artistic Director of Firehouse Theatre Project), Unlisted Properties, which has been performed at The Firehouse Theatre Project (Richmond) and the 2008 SETC Theatre Convention in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Prior to her time in Europe, Lauren was an actress in the Richmond/Hampton Roads area of Virginia where some of her past performance credits include Candida at the Williamsburg Shakespeare Festival, Uncle Tom: Deconstructed with The Conciliation Project and Reindeer Monologues at the Richmond Triangle Players. Lauren now resides in Omaha, Nebraska where she will be a Teaching Artist for the Omaha Community Playhouse this Fall.
She is passionate about her work and she infects her students with the same...In the time I have known Lauren I have come to respect her as a theatre artist of both passion and talent. I have been impressed with her work within the classroom and in the larger artistic community.
